Your article is spot-on! A ‘Do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do’ Religion is nothing more than a cult! The Bible, to my knowledge, never mentions you must be Catholic to believe in God. Maybe why Catholics are not encouraged to read the Bible.
Although not raised Catholic our church school did teach — Our God was the Real God!’ As an eight-year old I asked our Principal, ‘How many Gods are up there, anyway? Our God, the real God, the Catholic God, the African God, the Chinese God, Japanese God, the Jewish God, How many?’ Eyes rolled, yet no answer!
It is even possible to believe in God and never go to church — not that I recommend it, yet what if you are metaphysical and it is more of a personal belief? (No giant churches) We are all a part of God as God’s children. You know? One in Spirit, not body?
I like your comment about ‘old men in dresses!’ Funny, how after Mass they jump into their Levi’s and go out, as if!
