Welcome to the club — as they say.
I lost my first born and only son to a hit-and-run when he was 11. It turned out to be a 15-year-old in a stolen car making his getaway, he rounded a turn too fast, struck and killed my son.
After the funeral someone whom I did not know dropped the comment -when ones soul can no longer grow in this body, they leave this life. (how cruel!).
It took 30 years to overcome the coulda-woulda-shoulda…and when I recovered I realized his death was a gift to me because it forever changed my life.
His father came from a wealthy family, I did not, and he had a foot in both worlds after my divorce.
I now believe the girl who made the comment after the funeral was on the right track: it was her presentation that was not well thought out.
Metaphysics suggests we come here for a reason and leave when the reason has been accomplished.
You could say, you have found your reason!
