The Wedding

1-2-3 bride

Like a phoenix we ascended the mist into a darkened sky. Morning sat on the horizon unpacking her rays. One by one she hung yellow across the skyline, their edges glistening like a buzz-zillion bees wings flying into the sunset.

We flew through the crack between night and morning as a blue sky unfolded engulfing out jet!

I opened my new book to catch up on the story when the wings dipped and my heart tumbled. Surprisingly free of fear I returned to my book without looking up.

The smiling face of one beloved daughter greeted me upon arrival. After loading my luggage into her car we embarked on the drive to Tucson. Like two squirrels sharing stories of our buried pantry we chattered the hour away.

I have yet to tell her we are One because on some level she already knows it to be so. A sure case of daughter having been born before her mother.

We joined the wedding party for our scheduled massages and returned to the lobby hours later like a group of wet socks! Now, filled with oils and a dash of euphoria, I looked at least a good day younger.

Too bad one cannot bottle giggles because my family was blessed with giggle genes. I tried coke with peanuts as recommended by the grooms Marine buddy.and gave up, thinking only someone high on moonshine could have thought this one up!
