Speaking as one who has experienced a few generations, schools do not teach you to understand who you are and what your potential really is: rather, they teach who THEYwant you to be. (Cookie-cutter!).

A recent article claimed American schools did not focus on encouraging students to go into engineering: Yet, accepted students from China who took their knowledge back to China. Thus China became light-years ahead of America in the field of technology! (it could have been the US).

Any student who demonstrates a potential for thinking outside-the-box should be encouraged to share their ideas, not forced to get back in line. (opinion).
