Jack, you amaze me with your marvelous grasp of the English language. I accept you as one who has researched multiple thought systems, who speaks fluently between each, however something is missing. Perhaps you are just rattling cages to make people think? Unless, you are on the ledge and almost ready to select the one you like best? To study all and select none speaks of Avoidance — not yet classified as a religion nor spiritual. Maybe, Polished?
As an eight-year-old foster kid in a religious school I asked the Principal, “How many God’s are up there, anyway?” Catholic, Jewish, African, Chinese, etc. and our God, the real One?
I prefer to think whatever works for you is the right one for you! When my first-born and only son was killed by a hit-and-run walking home from a church picnic with a friend — I did not go to church for 30 years.
Eventually, I started going to a Black church because of the music, and the people. After nearly three years they invited me to try a nice White church just down the road! WHAT?! (is this religious or spiritual?).
What I discovered is after having been raised in one religion it takes time to endorse another thought system.
Blessings on your Journey!
