I was raised on Fire and Brimstone — everything was a sin! No drinking, no smoking, no dancing, no night clubs, no make-up, no jewelry, no meat, no movies, and yes, that too! My father was a musician with Harry Owens and the Royal Hawaiian’s, and left home before I was born.

When my first born and only son was killed while walking the short distance home from a church picnic — I kicked God out of my life and did not go to any church for 30 years!

By a fluke, I met a famous Grammy-Award winning gospel singer who sang a song just for me. Renegade tears fled my cheeks disappearing down the front of my Tuxedo. I decided to go to his church mostly for the music. After nearly three years I was told there was a nice White church just down the road!

I was stunned! Reverse discrimination had not even crossed my mind! This is when I went on a search for the Facts! Everything that had been pounded into my head did not work anymore.

After years of due deliberation, here is how I make my decisions about everything. A Metaphysical Quote.

How you see others is how you see yourself!

We all have the same dreams, desire to be loved, and fulfill our best selves. We do the best we can with what we know and hopefully do better as we learn more.

Life is a journey, not a destination (Ralph Waldo Emerson). We are all on the same journey, just not on life’s same freeways!

John McCain led a colorful life, had the American Dream family, and left behind a legacy most of us can only read about.

R. I. P. John McCain!
